This Little Girl Went VCD Shopping Again

I just could not help myself. There I was in front of the mall knowing that right inside, on the 3rd floor, I could have the chance to own another Johnny Depp movie (which I'm trying to collect).

I had no choice but to go inside or else I'll be dealing with my own "What-Ifs". That would be quite hard on my soul. I really did not want to go inside. The mall's having its annual sale (with items that's supposed to have really huge discounts) but I really don't think they're that discounted.

I did not look anywhere else but the path straight right to the 3rd floor. I did not want to see any other item or I might want to buy something else when I'm saving up most of my money for those braces. Oh well. But I know that those movies just could not wait, movie junkie that I am.

I was disappointed. The VCDs were not on sale! Gaaah! Why? Why? Why?

But I felt like I needed to buy a VCD. So I scoured through the collection and found three interesting ones. One classic - An Affair to Remember. One pretty mushy - Message in A Bottle. And one quite so unknown - Platoon. I bought the first one because it was a classic and I wanted to know why it has been so popular. The second one was because I cried loads when I was reading the book. And the third one simply because Johnny Depp was there (though he was not a main character. Who cared?!).

So now, aside from those movies I just bought, I still have other movies to watch: The Sea Is Watching, Casablanca, Haunted Doll 2, Happy Times, Try Seventeen, Romeo + Juliet, Edward Scissorhands, Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl, and Coyote Ugly. Some of that whole lot I've already watched but I just want to watch them again.

There. I'll probably be busy watching all of these this weekend.

Oh. I almost forgot. I still have another one to watch. I also did buy a VCD for my son. A Barney VCD so I guess I'll have to watch that one with him. Oh you know. Parental guidance. Wink

Friday's Feast #10

Appetizer: Describe your laundry routine. Do you have a certain day when you do it all, or do you just wash whatever you need for the next day?
Uh... I don't have a laundry routine. We hire a person who does the laundry for our family. And she comes in twice a week to wash our clothes.

Soup: In your opinion, what age will you be when you’ll consider yourself to truly be old?
Truly old? I guess that would be when I'm 70something.
Salad: What is one of your goals? Is it short-term, long-term, or both?
One of my goals would be to save up enough money for braces. It is of course a short-term goal but it can also be a long-term one for when my teeth get fixed, it would be for the long run.

Main Course: Name something unbelievable you’ve seen or read lately.
Hmm... Unbelievable? Uh... me being told that I have a good voice...? That's quite unbelievable knowing that I don't have a good voice. At all.

Dessert: On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being highest, how happy are you today?
Let's say 9. The missing 1 point would be given to the fact that I'd rather be at home and asleep. Haha.

Thursday Thirteen #3

So I love to eat. I guess almost everybody loves to eat, too. But there are certain stuff that I just would not eat in regular amounts... And there are also those that I would not dare touch even if I was blindfolded.

And this is what inspired by Thursday's Thirteen.

What 13 Food Don't You Usually Like?
  1. Pies
  2. Cakes
  3. Balut
  4. Fresh garden greens
  5. Indian food
  6. frog legs
  7. century egg
  8. sushi
  9. wasabe
  10. snails
  11. maggot-cheese
  12. monkey's brains
  13. chicken feet
Now that I've put in mine, can you tell me what're yours?

This Is Not A Planned Post

I honestly don't know what I'm going to tell you in this post. The truth is, I am simply waiting for time to pass for I am waiting for my writers to submit their articles for yesterday. Yes, it's 10:30am almost and the articles I have are still incomplete. And I just can't work with incomplete articles. Call me a diva if you would like to but it's just the way I work.

Or you can also call me a slave driver for I ask them to submit early. Look here. The articles are supposed to be submitted when the day ends. So they should have submitted them to me yesterday afternoon. But guess what? It's 10:30 past and I'm still writing this. And it means that they have not yet finished what they were supposed to do. Heck, now, I am the one who would have to suffer.

What I do hate about submitting late is that you start your day's work late as well. And that means you do that again and again until the next thing you would notice is that you are late for a week already! Okay. So I'm exaggerating but I hope you do get the idea.

Oh well.

So let me now just tell you about my new project. I'm saving up my money for some braces. And I'm going for the no-extraction braces. I can go conventional if I want to but why stay with the painful when you have the more comfortable treatment? And no, this is not that new really. I mean, it has been used for 7 years already. It just is not that popular for the price can get steeper by a few thousands.

And because of the price, that is the reason why I have the project. And I'm naming it the I-Need-Money-For-Braces Project and that's where you come in. You can always send me your donations. I accept Metrobank deposits and I also accept G-Cash. Just post a comment and I'll send you the details. And I'll probably make you a cool icon you can post in your blog or maybe a blog header if you think you can shoulder a huge chunk of the total costs. I really love you now, you know. Especially if you're thinking of sending me the money now.

Or else, if nobody gives me the money, then I guess I'll have to work on it myself. I'm saving my earnings and it'll probably take me a year to collect the needed cash. So if you can also help me out by giving me ghostwriting or any writing duties (blog writing please), I'm sure I'll appreciate it that much.

Yes, I'll probably work my ass fingers off but I'm sure I wouldn't resort to using "unethical" ways just to get the cash. No can do. Thinking about it just gives me the creeps (and the goosebumps) and I'd rather do it the hard and long way rather than do it the easy way.

Thankyouverymuch.

It Just Ain't About The Money...

...It's more of earning money the right way. It's about earning money through the right means. How do you define if it's right? Well, for me, it's basically using your own talents, the right resources, and the legal ways.

I think of it this way. If you had this piece of land where you got just the right amount of money. You decide you would like to reap in more cash so you decide to expand your "business" and use the piece of land next to yours which is your sister's. If she decides it's okay, then go ahead and do so. If you don't get permission, then using it for your own personal gain is wrong. After all, it's not yours to begin with. Wink

Who is Atomicgirl?
Atomicgirl is a single mom who is currently jobless. Well, she does freelance SEO and writing jobs and that keeps her busy. She dreams of being a professional photographer and she dreams of owning her very own dSLR. She loves the Internet and she also collects movies, and good reads. She considers herself to be a fan of Johnny Depp and David Cook. At present, her constant source of happiness is her son, James Nicholas Sky, who is a bubbly and talkative two-and-a-half-year old. Although Atomicgirl graduated with a BA Communication Research degree, this feisty Bicolana is quite satisfied with the industry that she is involved in right now. She now lives in Legazpi City although she sometimes misses the fun times she had during her 6-year stay in the jungle of Manila. She is a woman. She is a writer. She is a mother. And she is most definitely not a saint.

Buy me a cup of coffee.
