Friday's Feast #7

Appetizer: Describe a toy you remember from your childhood.
Lego! It was one of my favorites for I can build buildings and houses and trucks and cars and all the crazy stuff I can think of.

Soup: On a scale of 1 to 10 (with 10 being highest) how observant are you?
Somewhere between 5 and 6. I am not that observant. However, I do believe in a communication theory that says that a person can only be that observant if whatever he's looking at is something interesting to him or her. If not, he would not even recall that he saw that.

Salad: Where would you rather be at this very moment?
At home. Asleep. Or at the movie. Watching Transformers again. Or with Johnny Depp. Just staring at him.

Main Course: When was the last time you learned something new?
A couple of minutes ago. I was learning how to make my quotes look far better than the usual.

Dessert: Fill in the blank: I have ____________ but I haven't ____________.
I have money but I haven't got enough to tide me and my son through the rest of our lives.

Sky's Growing Up So Fast!

My son, Sky, is growing up so fast that I could not certainly keep track with the developments that he is having. When he was younger, I could rattle off all the things that he could do. However, now that he is growing so fast that he is now a little boy and not a toddler anymore (well, at least in my eyes he'll remain to be my baby), I get surprised most of the time but what things he has learned or has caught from other people or from the television.

Hay... This only means that I'm also growing old... cry

Anyhow, here are two videos of my son which I shot yesterday. I always have fun bonding with him. There's the innocence and the curiousity that I could never find in grown-ups.

Oh How I Wish I Could Travel More...

One of the things I love doing is traveling. Well, at least, I get to see new places and get to learn about their culture. I do not travel just to shop or to meet new people. Nope.

A friend is going to HongKong soon and she is asking me if I would like to go. If only I did not have much to consider, I would have gone on ahead and did not think twice. But there are some things worth thinking over.

Incentives. If there were no incentive program, I would have packed up, filed for leave, and went off to wherever. But the incentives come in huge amounts and that's pretty much helpful along the way.

Money. It is not actually a big matter but it is something I do consider. Just think about this: if I were to go to HongKong, I would certainly have fun. But when I go home, then what? I would live the rest of my life in poverty until the next pay day, that is? I don't think so.

Pending Tasks. Now that's one thing I hate. So I better just stay and do my thing here.

I Want Culture! And so HongKong actually does not bring out any excitement at all for me. Honestly. You see, it seems like everybody's going to HongKong. To do what? Shopping? Disneyland? No thanks. I think Chinatown would be very much just like HongKong. If I were to travel, I'd rather go to Davao than HongKong. Local as it may be, at least, there are more interesting places to go to there. Well, that's my two cents.

Anyway, if there's somebody there who's willing to take me to trips to anywhere in the Philippines, I'm very much willing to go. Also trips to countries like Switzerland, Italy, France, Malaysia, Indonesia, Cambodia, South Korea, and Japan would very much suffice. Please oh please.

Yahoo! Photos is Closing

When I was in Manila the last time, Allan, Cess, and I were talking about tons of different stuff. One of the things that we talked about was the closing of Yahoo! Photos. I honestly thought it was not that of a big deal and I forgot about it until around a couple of days ago when I decided to check on the site.

Yup. I guess everything that Cess and Allan told me are true. I mean, if you have a Yahoo! Photos account, try to go back. I'm sure you'll be receiving a page that looks like this:

Yahoo! Photos front

Yup, that's right. You would be allowed to log in. Upon logging in, I get these two important messages screaming in front of me...

Yahoo! Photos is closing down message

Yahoo! Photos' message to user

So I guess they are going to close down Yahoo! Photos on September 20. Although it would be just a few more weeks away, I pretty much do recommend that you go through your account so you can see if you need to save photos you may have uploaded there.

But there is no need to worry though for Yahoo! has come up with suggestions as per where you can save any photos that you think are worth keeping. They even suggest two options:
Where to save your photos

Yahoo! Photos' other option

According to the site, you can try uploading your photos to these sites:
  • Flickr: Share photos with family and friends or the world! You can sign into Flickr straight away using your Yahoo! ID.
  • Shutterfly: Transfer your photos and enjoy a free photo book, plus unlimited storage, photo sharing, and pick up prints at Target.
  • Kodak Gallery: Your pictures join over 2 billion cherished memories. Get Prints in home or at 13,000 stores and a special offer!
  • Photobucket: Free service with room for thousands of photos and hours of video. Easy sharing and linking. Great gifts.
  • Snapfish: 50 free prints and free shipping. 12c prints everyday, free sharing and storage. Pick up prints at Walgreens in 1 hour.
When I did go check what pictures were in my account, I was astounded to find that this was where I had stored tons and tons of photos - those which were scanned and then uploaded, mostly college pics, and tons of Atom Araullo photos. I remember those days... Haha. So, I did download them one by one and I would be transferring them to another site.

Who is Atomicgirl?
Atomicgirl is a single mom who is currently jobless. Well, she does freelance SEO and writing jobs and that keeps her busy. She dreams of being a professional photographer and she dreams of owning her very own dSLR. She loves the Internet and she also collects movies, and good reads. She considers herself to be a fan of Johnny Depp and David Cook. At present, her constant source of happiness is her son, James Nicholas Sky, who is a bubbly and talkative two-and-a-half-year old. Although Atomicgirl graduated with a BA Communication Research degree, this feisty Bicolana is quite satisfied with the industry that she is involved in right now. She now lives in Legazpi City although she sometimes misses the fun times she had during her 6-year stay in the jungle of Manila. She is a woman. She is a writer. She is a mother. And she is most definitely not a saint.

Buy me a cup of coffee.
