Bicolano Really?

I have been born and raised in Bicol. Although I spend around 6 years in Manila, I still chose to come home and work here in Legazpi City. I have my roots deeply planted here but am I totally Bicolano?

You see, they say that Bicolano's love spicy food. I do not. They say that the Bicolano loves food cooked in gata (coconut milk). I am not much of a fan. They also do say that Bicolanos are quite religious. I have my own faith but I sincerely am not happy about religion. I dunno. But at least I can say that I can speak (and understand) at least 3 Bicolano dialects. (They're pretty interesting.)

Anyway, I tried out a quiz to see if I do understand really deep Bicolano. But I guess not. I only got 5 correct answers out of a total 10. 50%! Sheesh. I was told, "Salamat Atomicgirl. An saimong nakua: 5 sa sampulong pipilian. Kaipuhan po na mag-adal pa nin bikol." and this means "Thanks Atomicgirl. You got: 5 correct answers. You still need to study Bicol more."

So, if you're a Bicolano, understand the language, or you would simply like to try it out and see how you fare, try this
quiz.

And yeah. Leave me a comment. I'd like to know how you fared. Wink

I think I also would like to add that I would like to add the following to the list:
By the way, anyone who is willing to give me the items on the list would be greatly appreciated. Haha. Tama ba yun? Uh... I'll also give you some link love. Wink And yeah, if you could give Johnny Depp (as in siya talaga!) to me, I'll love you for the rest of my life!

Also, I decided to change the date of when I'll be answering all your questions. I think I'll answer them after my birthday, perhaps on the 11th of July. That way, you can still drop your questions. You still have time to ask me whatever's been bugging you regarding me, my views, my blog, and whatever else. Anyhow, you can check out that post and send your comments here.

My Blog Just Got Berated

Around a week ago, I decided to ask for a rating (and a "berating") from Berate My Blog. I thought, well, maybe I should put in my blog so that I could know what others think of my blog. After all, this opportunity does not come everyday.

Anyhow, my wish has been granted and my blog's been given a score of 7.5. Not bad if you ask me. I mean, this is a personal blog and it's all about me and my views and who I've been with. I actually treat this blog as a "logbook" of sorts so I can go back in time and remember just what happened during those times. That's it.

I'm simply happy. Thanks for the comments and the suggestions. I'll see if I can work them with how I run my blog. We'll see. Wink So to Unica and Fiona, thanks!

The Quitinday Falls in Jovellar, Albay

Last June 17, Sunday, a couple of colleagues and I went to Jovellar. It was a fun day and I got totally sunburned (even if I did not dare go to the waterfalls itself). Anyway, to let you get a glimpse of what happened, here are some pictures.

Who is Atomicgirl?
Atomicgirl is a single mom who is currently jobless. Well, she does freelance SEO and writing jobs and that keeps her busy. She dreams of being a professional photographer and she dreams of owning her very own dSLR. She loves the Internet and she also collects movies, and good reads. She considers herself to be a fan of Johnny Depp and David Cook. At present, her constant source of happiness is her son, James Nicholas Sky, who is a bubbly and talkative two-and-a-half-year old. Although Atomicgirl graduated with a BA Communication Research degree, this feisty Bicolana is quite satisfied with the industry that she is involved in right now. She now lives in Legazpi City although she sometimes misses the fun times she had during her 6-year stay in the jungle of Manila. She is a woman. She is a writer. She is a mother. And she is most definitely not a saint.

Buy me a cup of coffee.
