I Can't Unlove You

I am at yet another phase in my life. I am starting to become a Kenny Rogers follower. No, I'm not talking about Kenny Rogers Roasters (that resto). I am talking about the real deal - that guy who sings his heart out.

I simply love him for he is a real entertainer. I've been watching YouTube vids of him and he's simply one fun guy. When he sings, it's like he's not having difficulty belting out the notes. When he talks to the crowd, he draws them out and he really does know how to entertain.

Anyhow, I've come across this video. I think it is one of Kenny Roger's newest songs - I Can't Unlove You. I just love it. (And one comment left at the site did state that the young guy in the video is one of his sons. I dunno. Maybe.)

He simply rocks. I know. I know. So here are the lyrics. Maybe you may want to sing along.

Postcards an' letters an' pictures made to last forever
To be boxed up and tossed away
Nick-nacks an' souvenirs
In an afternoon they're outta here
They'll disappear without a trace
But what they mean to me will never be replaced.

I can't unthink about you
I can't unfeel your touch
I can't unhear all the words, unsay all the things
That used to mean so much.

I wish I could unremember
Everything my heart's been through
I'm finding out it's impossible to do
Oh, it's no use: I can't unlove you.

Interstates and old songs: like time, they go on and on
I guess I could learn to do the same
I could wake up without you
These two arms not around you.
Tell myself: "It's meant to be this way."
No matter how I try, some things I can't change.

Awww... College Days...

And so while browsing through Friendster, I found this picture at Tabang sa Kabikolan's Friendster account. So there. Take a look at this pic:

pic found at Tabang sa Kabikolan site

So there. I looked for my face. Haha. Egoistic (tama ba?) me. And I did! Of course, all other faces belong to my UP Ibalon orgmates.

Exhibit A: That's me and Atom during the STAND-UP acquiantance party. And when the clock struck twelve, the whole gang (c/o my orgmates) greeted me with Atom giving me their greeting card. Aww... Of course, those were my Atom Araullo days. (Taken at the Sterten Place's rooftop)

Exhibit B: That's me with pading John. I was already 5 to 6 months pregnant here. (Taken at the University Food Center at Vinzons Hall)

Exhibit C: That's me with mareng Leslie and mareng Lipay. (I think this one was taken at our tambayan.)

Oh those certainly were the days...

Tagged. Now, I'm It.

So I've just gotten tagged by Niki. And even though it's time to work, let me just spare a few minutes doing this. I mean, yeah. I'm almost done with my tasks so just let me be (I hope).

INSTRUCTIONS: A person who gets tagged must write in his or her blog ten weird things or habits or little known facts about himself or herself. He or she should also state this rule clearly. At the end, he or she should tag six other people, except the one who tagged him or her.

So let's begin. (This is sure going to be quite difficult!)

1. I can get pretty sleepy at around 2 or 3 in the afternoon but my mind wakes up at around 7pm. I don't know why. I can also get pretty sleepy while watching TV or playing with my son but as soon as I sit in front of my computer, my mind totally wakes up!

2. I always have a small plastic canister in my bag. This contains a pack of medicines which I have used (and which I may use in the future). There's Biogesic, Diatabs, Zantac, Lagundi, Imodium, Flanax, Ponstan, Bioflu, Bonamine, Decolgen, and Motilium.

3. I have been using prescription eyeglasses since I was in 1st year high school. I think that this has something to do with my laziness to turn on the lights especially when I am engrossed with reading those Nancy Drew novels I was hooked at back when I was in elementary.

4. I was diagnosed with mild epilepsy when I was in the third grade but when we sought a second opinion, it turned out that I did not have such a sickness. But I do faint when I'm very hungry, tired, or when it is too hot.

5. I have had just one boyfriend (and he's an ex now). The thing is, most people think that I have had much too many boyfriends. But what they don't know is that I am simply one of "the boys" (I easily get along with guys) and they misinterpret that into something else.

6. I don't like colored mobile phones nor mobile phones with cameras. I would still choose an 1100 over any other high-tech mobile phone there is right now. You see, it is all about practicality here. The only things I use my mobile phone for are (1) send and receive text messages, (2) make and take calls, and (3) as an alarm clock. High-end mobile phones just are far too complex for me and they run out of juice after a few hours of continued use as compared to the Nokia 1100 which can be used for all purposes and still retain power for up to a week. (Now, that's what I need here in Legazpi when the power seems to go out every so often.)

7. I update my blog just because I want to. I don't care what other people think of my blog and of my ideas and I express whatever thoughts are running through my head. You see, this blog has been an extension of myself. And I just don't lie when I write. Since I treat my blog as a logbook of sorts, I would not want to keep fallacious details here. That would be so wrong.

8. I wanted to be an engineer when I was in high school but it was good that my mother made me choose another course instead because now, I hate doing complicated math! Thank you, CommRes.

9. You can let me stay in front of the computer and I can sit there for hours on end. As long as you give me games, an ebook, and a fast Internet connection, I would probably not even notice that hours have already gone by.

10. I am now starting a collection of original VCDs of some of the best movies ever made and just some of those really "fine" movies.

So there. Now, it's my turn to tag six people. Let's see... there's Raziel, Jayme, Jade, Mayee, Yatot, Cesky & Mats, and also Sir Danny Arao, Ederic, and Mong (that is, if these last three would like to deviate from their usual and try this one out. Hehe!)

Your turn guys.

I Just Got A New Phone!

I just got a new phone yesterday. Another one of those things that blogging has bought me. Oh yeah!

It's not a high-end mobile phone. You see, I am not that type of person to love using high-end units. I'd rather stick with one that matches my taste and one which I could use to text easily and make calls easily. The battery life of a mobile phone also is something I consider since I live in this place where brownouts (and storms) are always on the rampage. Tongue

This is my new phone:
Alcatel OT-C635 purple

I was actually eyeing a pink Motorola phone and it did look really good for me. But it did not quite meet up to my expectations. The screen was small and it was too thin for me. I mean, I felt like it could snap any time. And it when it was open, it felt like it was too long. Really. It reminds me so much of the Nokia N71 only much lighter.

And so we decided on the Alcatel OT-C635. Although it's quite different from Nokia phones, it's quite easy to use and understand.

Who is Atomicgirl?
Atomicgirl is a single mom who is currently jobless. Well, she does freelance SEO and writing jobs and that keeps her busy. She dreams of being a professional photographer and she dreams of owning her very own dSLR. She loves the Internet and she also collects movies, and good reads. She considers herself to be a fan of Johnny Depp and David Cook. At present, her constant source of happiness is her son, James Nicholas Sky, who is a bubbly and talkative two-and-a-half-year old. Although Atomicgirl graduated with a BA Communication Research degree, this feisty Bicolana is quite satisfied with the industry that she is involved in right now. She now lives in Legazpi City although she sometimes misses the fun times she had during her 6-year stay in the jungle of Manila. She is a woman. She is a writer. She is a mother. And she is most definitely not a saint.

Buy me a cup of coffee.
