"Tatay! Tatay!"

Since Friday last week, I have been hearing my son squealing out "Tatay! Tatay!" I am not sure where he heard it but he surely did not hear it from me. I have never talked about "Tatay" ever since my friend Ivan passed away. You see, Ivan, when he was still around, told me that Sky should call him Tatay. He wanted to be part of seeing my child grow up and be around him.

But you see, now I'm wondering who my son is calling Tatay now. I mean, I honestly don't know where he heard it. And he would often be calling out such when he is playing alone. Maybe his Tatay is also playing with him and is reminding me to never forget him and tell my son about his other "Tatay".

I still do have one other thing to do to fulfill Ivan's last request from me. And yet, I have no courage to do it. Maybe one day. But as I say, Ivan will always be remembered. And I still do feel like he's always around. Thanks Padi.

I Totally Hate These Brownouts

I think it has already  been weeks. We all would be enjoying the luxury of electricity when suddenly, the power is cut off. And we are all left in a world that is dark, and boring and totally hot. No electric fan!

Sometimes, the power would be out for just a couple of minutes. Sometimes, it would be out for an hour or two. Sometimes, it would be out for hours on end. And sometimes, it would be out in the wee hours of the morning, just when you are enjoying your stay in dreamland but you have to be jolted awake because of the buzzing of the mosquitoes and the sweat coursing down your body. Geez!

The thing is, if there was something going on, we, as consumers, should all be aware of it. We don't have to be in the dark (literally, and figuratively) during these power outages. Heck, you guys from Aleco could be so insistent if we could not pay on time but yet you do not provide the services that you should be giving us.

Anyhow, there are three "rumors" going around right now as per these power outages.

Aleco is turning down the power so that all of us would be reminded that we have to pay our bills on time. But then again, most consumers do pay on time. The only thing wrong that I see here is when Aleco would say that we have to pay up and would be very insistent when it fact it has been the organization's administration's fault why this power cooperative is totally in debt right now. And then you put back the blame on us. Sheesh.

Candidates are practising just how to exchange ballots. Yes, there is this certain rumor that candidates are already practising their moves on how they can change ballot boxes so that they could win even if they are on the losing side.

The Transco side. Here is the explanation.

Elections: Who're You Gonna Vote For?

it's election time once again. plenty of campaigns happening right now. who're you gonna vote for?

i'm not a registered voter but i sure am entitled to have my fair share of candidates who i'll be likely writing down if i were to vote. so just let me be.

for senators, i think i'm going for chiz escudero, antonio trillanes, alan peter cayetano, and kiko pangilinan. i don't think i would be voting for other candidates. i'm trying to rack my brains right now thinking who else would be worth my vote but i can't think of anybody else. yes, i'm voting for trillanes if i could. the rest would be left blank.

i think chiz would be a great senator although there are certain issues here in bicol saying that people from sorsogon are not going to vote for him because when he was in congress, people were not able to see anything done for the province. but then, for me, i think he has done a great deal. well, maybe not for his district but for his country. and that's the larger scope of things.

i can't say much about trillanes except for the fact that i like him. well, not like like like. but like in the sense that i'd like to see him in the senate. and what he can do. but then again, everything is a gamble. same goes for alan peter cayetano.

i'm having two-thoughts though when it comes to kiko pangilinan. maybe because he has got two celebrities in his family and he also has been one of the proponents for the SB2587 that we were opposing back in college. but he's running independent right now. so he'll be sticking with his own issues and he would not have to think of other "partymates" and their "hidden thingies".

for congressman, i think i'm going for james calisin. of course, i won't go for bichara. i can't think of what he'll do once he holds that position. maybe he'll be even having grander "festivals" here in albay. good god.

for governor here in albay, i'm choosing fernando gonzales. i like him and i like how he addresses issues. he may not be seen in the cities or the progressive areas but he could be seen working with the ordinary folk and working on their needs. why focus on the developed when there are more areas to develop?

for mayor, i have no idea who to vote for.

mind you, i just wanted to jot them down. if you have any violent reactions, feel free to leave a comment. i'll try to get back to you. :-p

Nothing Interesting

Nothing interesting has happened as of press time. I don't know what to share with you right now. If I had planned on sharing something here, it has probably slipped from my mind. Although I know I was thinking of something to share here yesterday but I had to stop myself because it was the day of silence. So... I dunno.

Anyway, let me just tell you about the wound I got on my right big toe. It happened last night when we were jamming at Ate Pinky's abode. I went to take a leak and when I opened the door, boom! The edge of the door banged right into my foot. I thought it was nothing.

But when I went inside, I decided to check on my toe which was still smarting. And lo and behold! It was already bleeding. It just received a small scratch but it still was a wound. And when I get wounded in my foot, I just bleed. And I mean bleed.

So I cleaned it up and was walking back to their sala as if nothing had happened. I asked for some cotton so I could wipe away the blood that was coming out. Of course, they asked what I was going to do with cotton and then I told them that I got "injured".

Ate Pinky took out some alcohol, betadine, gauze, and cotton and she cleaned the very small (but bleeding) wound. And that was it. They thought I was going to faint since I have had a history of fainting upon the sight of blood. But I did not feel anything at all. Mind you, I already had gone through a Caesarian section so I was stronger this time around. Well, maybe.

Anyhow, I remember when I was in college and living in Krus Na Ligas, I hopped off the sofa that I was sitting on so I could go to our room. But then I stepped on a piece of thumbtacks and it was really embedded into the heel of my right foot. I just took it out like nothing happened and cleaned off the wound.

But before I could get to our medical supplies, I had to hop off from the sala to the kitchen. I think there was no one around that time and I was all alone. And during the whole hopping thing, I was already oozing blood on the floor. Thank God I didn't faint at that. I guess I was pretty courageous because I know that there was no one there to help me if I fainted or whatever.

So still, I'm alive. And thank God my right toe's not smarting anymore.

I'm off to dreamland now for tomorrow's going to be another day at work and after that, Ate Pinky's going to fetch me and we're going to the mall to do some shopping. (As if I have the money to shop!)

Girlfriend

haha. this one made my day.

promise. ang saya. that's avril lavigne doing her 'girlfriend' stint. astig. lyrics of avril lavigne's 'girlfriend':

Hey! Hey! You! You!
I don’t like your girlfriend!
No way! No way!
I think you need a new one
Hey! Hey! You! You!
I could be your girlfriend

Hey! Hey! You! You!
I know that you like me
No way! No way!
No it’s not a secret
Hey! Hey! You! You!
I want to be your girlfriend

You’re so fine
I want you mine
You’re so delicious
I think about ya all the time
You’re so addictive
Don’t you know what I could do to make you feel alright?
Don’t pretend I think you know I’m damn precious
And Hell Yeah
I’m the motherfucking princess
I can tell you like me too and you know I’m right

She’s like so whatever
You could do so much better
I think we should get together now
And that’s what everyone’s talking about!

I can see the way, I see the way you look at me
And even when you look away I know you think of me
I know you talk about me all the time again and again
So come over here, tell me what I want to hear
Better yet make your girlfriend disappear
I don’t want to hear you say her name ever again
(And again and again and again!)

In a second you’ll be wrapped around my finger
Cause I can, cause I can do it better
There’s no other
So when's it gonna sink in?
She’s so stupid
What the hell were you thinking?!

Who is Atomicgirl?
Atomicgirl is a single mom who is currently jobless. Well, she does freelance SEO and writing jobs and that keeps her busy. She dreams of being a professional photographer and she dreams of owning her very own dSLR. She loves the Internet and she also collects movies, and good reads. She considers herself to be a fan of Johnny Depp and David Cook. At present, her constant source of happiness is her son, James Nicholas Sky, who is a bubbly and talkative two-and-a-half-year old. Although Atomicgirl graduated with a BA Communication Research degree, this feisty Bicolana is quite satisfied with the industry that she is involved in right now. She now lives in Legazpi City although she sometimes misses the fun times she had during her 6-year stay in the jungle of Manila. She is a woman. She is a writer. She is a mother. And she is most definitely not a saint.

Buy me a cup of coffee.
