Signs

I’ve asked Him for a sign. I told Him that staring yesterday, March 27, up until the end of April, if I do not hear from him or anything about him or see him, then it means that it’s really not meant to  be.

But yesterday has just been the start and from the moment I woke up, I was reading messages from him.

Good Lord! What does this mean?

The Past, The Present, The Future

I’m giving this blog post such a title because the past two days has been like a look into the past, the present and the future. It has been an eye-opener for me to look and realize just what I have and just how lucky I have been. Yes, fun as they may have been, it simply does tell me that the future may even be brighter than I have have realized right now.

Yesterday, I learned that Chum, a college classmate, is here in Legazpi. And being the kind of person that I am, I told her that perhaps we should meet up. After all, we haven’t seen each other since college days and so far, many has changed and many has happened.

In the evening, I went out with Chum. Her son is now almost 4 years old and I remember that when I was working with Chum (and Justine) on a school paper, Chum was around 8 to 9 months pregnant. After that, I was not able to see her son. Now, he’s all grown up and I’m a mother myself to a bubbly 1-year-old kid.

Anyhow, it was fun learning about things and talking about stuff that we may have missed. We did catch up on the current situations of our other classmates. And if any one of my former classmates would be here in Bicol, I would not hesitate and meet up with them. It’s nice knowing that despite whatever you have gone through during those turmoil-filled college years, it all boils down to one experience that you all went through together and find out just how strong the bond (and the friendship) has been between all of you.

That same day, sometime in the afternoon, I was chatting with Marlon, another college classmate who is now in Spain. During our college years, Marlon was the outspoken type of guy and sometimes, our ideals and our views would clash. I would be stepping up to the side of STAND-UP while he would be opposed on what I thought was better.

And now, while we were chatting, it does look like we both changed. No matter what you might say, we all have changed. I may still be inclined to what I have learned in college during those non-academic type of activities but it does look like Marlon has, too. And it is quite interesting to realize that one time or another, our UP views would still remain.

And for that I am proud to be an alumnus. And even prouder to be part of all that I have gone through during those years.

Today, after taking some drinks with Theon, we rushed to the SBC to talk with Monsi. However, there was a meeting going on so we decided to crash Ate Pinky’s house. During the first times that I was at her place, I was thinking that she may be that sweet and friendly to me simply because I was Theon’s friend. But it does look like it’s just not like that. It does look like a friendship has developed and I do see being friends with her. She’s really one cool gal, that I tell you. Despite the age difference.

But she does give me good advice on relationships. So now, I’m looking for a guy who’s going to understand me and I’m more open on trying out relationships with guys who are older than me. And I mean way older. Not those 1-2 years type of difference but more of 5 years to maybe 7 or 8. But I’m not going for those who are around 20 years older. If that’s the case, I’ll stick with finding another father for myself instead.

Me. Pig.

For the past couple of weeks I've been eating like a bird (if a bird eats this little). There has been no results showing on my body as of present but I do feel better.

Anyhow, I have been pigging out today. And when I mean pigging out, it means that I have been eating more than the usual. I have taken in a whole combo meal from Jollibee, a cone of ice cream, and a cup of rice with my favorite malunggay with pasa-pasa.

And so my stomach feels too full. And I mean too full for words.

When I went to Ate Pinky's, she cooked carbonara and I was forced to eat. Kakahiya kasi. And now, I'm feeling totally bloated. If you think about it, I've been eating more than 2 days worth of what I usually take in. So I'm not if I'm feeling like this.

Yikes. Me. Pig.

The Best Beer In Town

where do you find the best beer in town? surely not in my home. but there is this one place here in legazpi city where drinking beer is the best.

yes, i'm pertaining to chili peppers. it is located just right along the road. the place is cozy, the waiters are friendly, the service is okay, the beer is just priced right, and it looks sophisticated enough. no, i'm not telling you this because i'm a stockholder of some sort. no, i'm just an avid customer and i really love the place.

unlike some other places i've been to, chili peppers is sure better.

i've tried drinking it up in hendriquitos. what i didn't like about the place was that it was too far off. i mean, you had to walk still to get to the place. what if you were already drunk and dizzy? how are you going to get home in the stark of night?

then there's ninong's. oh please. ninong's used to be okay but come to think of it, the place seems not to be maintained anymore.

and there's also chateau noveau. if you like to drink in silence, then this is going to be your place. but no offense to frank, my companions and i didn't quite like it there. the beer was too pricey, the pulutan was not so delicious and it was quite a while before it was served, and we feel like the rest of the world can hear our laughter.

bar101? that's kid stuff. i mean, high school? too high school?

of course, swaisi. the place is pretty okay and you get karaoke. however, i think you'd have to find a car of your own first to get to the place. it's that far off too. but one of our bosses likes it there so we often frequent the place when he's here.

but so far, it's still chili peppers for us. cozy. comfortable. classy. but not pricey. haha. i mean, most days, the place is packed and i mean packed. and then, we would have to wait and rush to be able to use the table. and foreigners are flocking there. just last night, there were a couple of tables of foreigners and they were not just one group. and one group caught my companions' attention because one of the girls was pretty. but that's another story.

Best In Performance: Raziel Siaton!

Yesterday, Raziel and I went to Gaisano. We went around while she took care of some stuff. Then, we headed out to the jeepney stop to go to Chili Peppers.

As we were walking the long stretch inside Gaisano to get to the jeepney terminal, I was so lost in thought. There were plenty of people around since it was a Sunday. Raziel and I could not walk side by side because it really was so crowded. So I was walking ahead of her and she was somewhere behind me.

And I saw him. Well, Ian actually. I saw him coming up ahead with his father behind him. I saw him looking at me. I don't know if I'm supposed to greet him or what. So I decided not to do anything and just wait for him to do something. He did not do anything and did not seem to recognize me and so I just remained as if I was just strolling in the mall and did not recognize him (as well).

But somewhere behind them was Ate Joy and his mother. I saw Ate Joy looking at me. Then, here comes Raziel loudly catching up with me and saying, "Di ba si jowa mo ito?" (Isn't that your boyfriend?)

Huwat?!

I think she said it just loud enough for Ate Joy and Ian's mother to hear. Haha. Goodluck.

I don't know what else I said to Raziel after that. I only distinctly remember saying, "Jowa?"

Raziel did explain though that she was catching up to me because she saw Ian, too, and that he looked familiar. She has not yet seen Ian in person before. So when she saw Ian and Ian was looking at me, she wanted to tell me so that I would see him. She, of course, did not know that his other relatives were just somewhere around. She also did tell me that when she looked back, she saw Ate Joy smiling. Haha. Well, it was an honest mistake I guess.

God. Maybe they're thinking that I'm telling people that Ian's still my jowa. So just in case any of their family is reading this, I'm not telling people that Ian is still my jowa. They know my story and they know what happened between us. And they have just been asking for pictures of the guy. And somehow, they found some old ones (online).

And that's the end of story. Honest mistakes do happen and this one's just priceless.
