13 Memorable Vacation Get-Aways

  1. Bulusan, Sorsogon get-away: my orgmates and I spent days in Bulusan where we went to a waterfall, sang some videoke, just hang about, and went to the beach everyday. This went on for about five days.
  2. Ligao City get-away: my friends and I would just hang-out by the streets during the afternoon and play tons of games until the night comes. We were living a totally 'provincial' life.
  3. Barcelona, Sorsogon get-away: my cousins and I would just wake up in the morning and spend time by the beach. We would be back in time for a late breakfast and then we would spend the rest of the day waiting for the sun to set so we can enjoy more of the beach.
  4. Jovellar, Albay get-away: my colleagues and I went to this beautiful waterfalls. It was one of those really fun experiences.
  5. Manila get-away: I went for a quick get-away a couple of days before my birthday and it was a totally relaxing destressing experience despite the fact that Manila was pretty much a busy place. I also got to spend time with former housemates and got to meet with old friends.
  6. Balete, Sto. Domingo, Albay get-away: my churchmates and I went to this pretty far-flung place where there was even no electricity. We spent the days just roughing it up and spent the nights waiting for the falling stars to appear.
  7. Sawanga, Bacon, Sorsogon get-away: a couple of friends and I went to this beautiful island. The place was simply pristine and there was no need for a boat to get to the island. You just walked to the island. Reminds me a lot of the movie, "The Beach".
  8. Rizal Beach get-away: during the Holy Week this year, my colleagues and I went to Rizal Beach in Sorsogon. It was a totally fun experience where I had experienced drinking until I *almost* dropped. There were tons of laughter and even more stories to share.
  9. Las Aguas, Sto. Domingo, Albay get-away: during my friend's birthday, we went to this resort and it was totally fun and relaxing. We ate a lot, drank a lot, and swam a lot. We even played volleyball like we were kids.
  10. Tabaco/Tiwi get-away: we joined a friend when he went to Tabaco. We ate at one restaurant there and headed off to Tiwi where we saw pretty sights and visited one really old church. It was quite fun for I was able to take tons of pictures. I felt like it was an educational tour for we had to go to different spots in just an afternoon.
  11. Reyes Beach get-away: One of those times that I really had fun and had tons of hours of catching up with an old friend. We didn't take a dip in the ocean but we just spent hours drinking and telling stories about life and what life has made us.
  12. Sta. Cruz, Laguna get-away: it was during my college days that my then-boyfriend asked me to join him to go to Laguna. I was not prepared, did not have anything with me but some money, but off I went where we and his friends spent hours jamming until the morning light.
  13. Summer 2000 get-away: after working for weeks as a relief operations volunteer, my co-volunteers and I went on a weekend get-away to various parts of Sorsogon. We spent the night at this hot spring resort, worked our way to an old church in the morning, walked around the Bulusan lake, and spent the afternoon catching up on sleep.
What's yours?

Whoa. I SO need to sit down with an atlas and figure out where some of these places are and how much I'll need to bribe the Tour Manager with in order to get there...

What an awesome list of places to have visited. My most interesting was to Costa Rica - hiking deep into the rainforest, and sleeping in a little cabin.

WOW! They all sound wonderful. Now if only I could figure out where they are? I need a lesson in geography. (Shaking head at her sorry excuse of an education)

You've been to lots of places! Envy, envy! I want to go to Manila and shop my heart out.

I grew up with a workaholic dad who worked on holidays too so we hardly ever go for holidays. Even if we did, it's usually somewhere driving distance. Sigh...

But once I graduate and get a bombastic job, I'm making it a point to travel to a new place every two years.

Happy TT!

Who is Atomicgirl?
Atomicgirl is a single mom who is currently jobless. Well, she does freelance SEO and writing jobs and that keeps her busy. She dreams of being a professional photographer and she dreams of owning her very own dSLR. She loves the Internet and she also collects movies, and good reads. She considers herself to be a fan of Johnny Depp and David Cook. At present, her constant source of happiness is her son, James Nicholas Sky, who is a bubbly and talkative two-and-a-half-year old. Although Atomicgirl graduated with a BA Communication Research degree, this feisty Bicolana is quite satisfied with the industry that she is involved in right now. She now lives in Legazpi City although she sometimes misses the fun times she had during her 6-year stay in the jungle of Manila. She is a woman. She is a writer. She is a mother. And she is most definitely not a saint.
