Peachy, The Spender

girl shopperI am a total spender. That is why I hate going to the mall. And that is also one reason why I hate the Internet.

So let me talk on that. I hate the mall because each time I go there, I find something I want to buy. Or maybe while looking for that something I need, I discover another item that I would like to own. And so it turns out that I bought something that I was not looking for and I was not able to buy that thing I needed.

This would be illustrated by me going to the mall to look for a Johnny Depp movie... say, Nick of Time. While looking for that movie, I chance upon another item - a complete set of Star Wars VCDs at a discounted price. I could not find the Johnny Depp movie so I buy the Star Wars VCDs. Okay. I'm happy. But is my pocket happy? I don't think so. So that means, I still would have to go back and look for Nick of Time hoping that the next time I am there, I would not be able to buy something that was not in my agenda.

Internet shoppingAnd why do I hate the Internet? Sheesh! It is a total marketplace! There are lots of places where you can buy tons of stuff. Like eBay. I look for a Johnny Depp VCD and find an interesting VCD instead - say, Gone With The Wind. Because I have not seen the movie, I bid for the item. Then I do try to look for other stuff in the seller's stash so I can save up on shipping. So instead of just buying one VCD (plus shipping), I spend on tons of other stuff that I have not been thinking about when I decided to shop for that VCD. Geez!

All these happen to me almost everytime. That's why I don't go to the malls that often. Like yesterday, I had to be at the mall to wait for my friend (we were going to watch Transformers). To kill time, I decided to look for some sandals. I found one. Then I tried looking for a blouse. Thank God I was not able to see a nice one. Then I remembered my friend asking me to buy her a magazine for her kid's project in school. So I went upstairs, found a bookstore and flipped my way through stacks of old magazines. I found one magazine, set it aside and then my eyes roamed over to... yup, the pocketbook stacks. All on sale. So my eyes were skimming over titles and authors and found two pocketbooks.

Come to think of it, I have a really high stack of original VCDs at home - most of which I have not viewed yet. And still, I'm looking for more VCDs. Then there's also a high amount of pocketbooks gathering dust and lying around in my room - only two have been read. And yet I'm still buying more. Please help me!!! cry

Maybe I should check-in into a rehab just like what Paris and Britney did. Maybe that would help.

Who is Atomicgirl?
Atomicgirl is a single mom who is currently jobless. Well, she does freelance SEO and writing jobs and that keeps her busy. She dreams of being a professional photographer and she dreams of owning her very own dSLR. She loves the Internet and she also collects movies, and good reads. She considers herself to be a fan of Johnny Depp and David Cook. At present, her constant source of happiness is her son, James Nicholas Sky, who is a bubbly and talkative two-and-a-half-year old. Although Atomicgirl graduated with a BA Communication Research degree, this feisty Bicolana is quite satisfied with the industry that she is involved in right now. She now lives in Legazpi City although she sometimes misses the fun times she had during her 6-year stay in the jungle of Manila. She is a woman. She is a writer. She is a mother. And she is most definitely not a saint.

Buy me a cup of coffee.
